Nehemiah’s Request

Nehemiah 2:1-10

“Then I prayed to the God of heaven.”

Nehemiah was grief-stricken when he heard the bad news. The people who had returned to Jerusalem after 70 years of exile were in trouble. They were disgraced, stripped of all dignity as once a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Jerusalem, the capital city of the once mighty kingdom of Judah lay in ruins.
