“Then he told her, ‘For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.’”
The contrast between Jesus’ disciples and the Pharisees and their disciples was stark. While Jesus taught his disciples to live by faith in God, the Pharisees lived according to the Jewish tradition. While Jesus helped his disciples to live before the eyes of God, the Pharisees ended up living before the eyes of one another. Some of these traditions were the washing of hands before eating meals, and many more things like that.
