JESUS REBUKES THE PHARISEES
Matthew 23:1-39
Key Verse 23:11-12
“The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
This is a very harsh chapter for anyone to hear, especially for those who are in God’s employ and doing service to him. They are the last words Jesus ever spoke within the temple grounds. As Matthew tells us, Jesus spoke first to his disciples as well as to the crowds.
