Malachi 2:10-17

“’I hate divorce,’ says the Lord God of Israel, ‘and I hate a man’s covering himself with violence as well as with his garment,’ says the Lord Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.”
Malachi dealt severely with the priests in the last passage we looked at. And now, he turns his attention to dealing directly with the nation as a whole. He confronts them with their own sin problem. His words are directed especially towards the men who had acted unfaithfully towards their marriage partners; and he rebukes them for doing the one thing that God hates so much— which is divorce.
