Matthew 26:1-28:20

Key Verse 28:6

“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay”

Today’s we’re going to be looking at the Easter story as told by Matthew, the man who used to sit at his tax collector’s booth in a corner of the market place and collect taxes for the Romans from his own people. Not everyone paid up, so Matthew probably employed some thugs to shake up those who didn’t want to pay as well as those who couldn’t. I cannot imagine how cruel and heartless someone like this could be. Jesus’ Blood Poured Out For Many

Mark 14:12-26

“‘This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,’ he said to them.”

The high light of Jesus’ ministry was in his final act of sacrifice on the cross followed by his resurrection. We call this the “gospel”. He had lived a few years among us in order to reach this point where he would shed his blood on the cross for the washing away of our sins. He did that on the cross. The Road To Emmaus

Luke 24:13-35

Key Verse 24:26

“Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”

The Road To Emmaus is told only by Luke, the author of the Gospel according to Luke. Luke was not a Jew as the other disciples and apostles. He was a Gentile, a Greek by origin and a Physician by trade. He later became the Apostle Paul’s personal physician and followed Paul wherever he went to preach the Gospel in the known world. During the time he served the Apostle Paul, Luke came to know Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world and Luke accepted Jesus as his own Savior.
