Encountering the affection for God, not simply pondering it, is something we should want with every one of our souls. This is an affair of incredible delight in light of the fact that in it we taste the simple reality of God and his affection. It is the ground of profound and magnificent affirmation – the confirmation that our expectation “won’t disillusion us” (Romans 5:5).
