What Does Born Again Mean?

born again

Jesus is pretty clear when He states that a Christian has to be born Being born again is an event that takes place in every authentic Christian’s life at some point. You”put off” your previous way of living and thinking, living in accordance with the bliss to sin in your own flesh. You’re born anew into a life with Christ; you eventually become a new generation that is Spiritual and ceaseless. “Therefore, if anyone is… More if they would like to see the kingdom of God.”

Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God… Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of this flesh. Sin is anything that goes against God’s will and His legislation. To commit sin is to transgress or disobey these laws. The lust to sin dwells in human nature. To put it differently, it is contaminated and inspired from the wicked tendencies that dwell in all people as a result of the fall into sin and disobedience from the garden of Eden. This… More is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:3-6.

It’s obvious that Jesus is not talking about being born another time. He is talking about a new desire — a religious transformation. Here is the process of sanctification, in which our sinful human nature has been slowly exchanged for divine nature when we in obedience to God’s will refuse and put to death the wicked lusts in our flesh. (Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Peter 1:3-4)… More.

Why is it that I want to get born again?

Before being born again I am led by my own human inclinations, namely the desires of the flesh. Typically, this is exactly what guides my thought processes and conclusions. However, the needs of the flesh do not lead to the lifetime of Christ, which is what I am called to. To contribute to desires like pride, laziness, jealousy, envy, selfishness, and many different types of evil lead to sinTo commit sin is to consciously do something which you know goes against God’s will. This can be in word, deed, or perhaps thought. (James 1:14-15)… More. Jesus describes the pre-born-again mind such as this: “Since you say’I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ — and do not know that you’re wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17.

It is when I acknowledge that I am as described in that verse which I’m at the point at which I am ready to be born again” of water and the Spirit” Nothing that I have as a result of being born of the flesh, as a natural person, is capable of serving God. While I acknowledge that I am not able to do the good, then God can take over. I want to surrender absolutely everything to be born of the Spirit — it’s a rebirth of their mind and heart. I become dead to the desires of the flesh and alive to the promptings of the Spirit.

“I’ve been crucified with ChristJesus was crucified on the cross at Calvary. Though blameless, He took upon Himself the punishment for sin, that was passing, therefore He could pay our debts and forgive us our sin if we’re willing to believe in Him and follow the Apostle Paul wrote: “I have been crucified with Christ…” (Galatians 2:20) That is a metaphorical… More; it’s no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Obviously, I have a flesh that craves fulfillment of its desires, but these wants are overcome and no more influence me. Rather, I’m alive to what the Spirit is directing me, which is the reality. My”old man,” as Paul calls my pre-born-again mindset, needs to stay crucified with Christ and the new life I have been born to be the life of Christ. The entire life of Jesus is to be exemplified in my mortal flesh. (2 Corinthians 4:11) It’s just because I have been born of the Spirit, and the Spirit lives in me, I have the power to resist temptation, to remain crucified to the needs of the flesh, and to live for Christ.

A new desire

All Colossians 3 is an excellent description of a born-again Christian, starting with: “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things that are above, where Christ is sitting at the ideal hand of God. For that, you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4.

I am aware that I’m born again if I know in my heart that my desire is not for anything of this earth, but rather a desire to serve God alone and let Him have control in my life. A desire to live for eternity instead of for anything in this world. A want like Jesus that “Not my will but Yours be done.”

It’s when I am willing to let go of my strengthThis pertains to a person who’s trying to put to death their sinful desires without help from God; not sinning by sheer strength of will. Some folks could manage this to some degree, but ultimately it’s impossible to come to total victory in one’s own strength, eventually, you will come to a conclusion of their own strength. A… More, pride, stubbornness, and individual ability and follow the Spirit’s leading to ensure God’s will can be carried out. Then I find that by the power of the Spirit, everything is possible. I am able to move mountains in my personal life. What I thought was hopeless, victory over sin”Victory over sin” means you do not perpetrate conscious in — what you know is a sin at the time whenever you are tempted. It does not mean that you are without sin, but the temptation is overcome before it can become a sin. I am becoming a transformed person; a new invention. I let God turn and mold me into the person he desires me to be.

Seeing the kingdom of God

Then I can see the kingdom of God. My eyes have been opened to see beyond the things of this earth; to see what’s true value. With God’s kingdom comes everything that’s truly great, both in this world and in life. Seeking God’s kingdom is, therefore, the most rewarding thing someone can do.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; you may know what’s the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”
